PHOENIX FISTBALL
– 2008 SUMMARY
Well I have been playing for over 45 years and I
cannot remember the Woman’s Phoenix first team ever loosing
the seasonal award, and this year was no exception.

In all it was a good year seeing many new faces,
we hope they join us again next year. The men are very close to
fielding 4 mens teams.
Phoenix was represented again by Diane and Steve Groeber in Wisconsin.
The Eastern Fistball Association (Phoenix and SSC) has gone to play
in Wisconsin for the last 7 years. We fielded 2 mens teams this
year. They came in first and fourth out of 7 teams (yes that is
6 games played in one day for each team). They adopted world cup
rules in regard to ending a game by points (first to reach 21) versus
playing by time. We met Rodrigo and his brother Ito, of Argentina
(currently residing in Texas). Both are world class players, helping
us achieve the great outcome. They are welcome friends in our beloved
sport. We are hopeful in 2009 to host a club from Germany. They
are keeping in touch via email.
I have accumulated a number of website hyperlinks
which displays the game. Hope you enjoy them. See you next year
– Thursday after Mothers Day – 2009.
